Thurston Detached Youth Work Project - Youth Worker Vacancy (voluntary role)

This is a call out to the Thurston community.

We are in need of at least one more youth worker to join our merry band!

No experience is necessary, just an interest in young people aged 12 to 17, and the willingness to talk to them about their interests and lives, discussing topics of interest to them. It’s not about telling them what to do, but about working with them to help them to arrive at their own conclusions. Sometimes it’s helping them see the consequences of their actions, sometimes it’s just being there to listen.

We meet with the young people around the village where they hang out. We don’t expect them to come to us, we go to them.

Training is available.
